Confidential Counseling & Healthcare Services

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers confidential counseling, referral, consultation, and other services for UTD employees (including graduate students employed as research, teaching, and/or graduate assistants).

Student Counseling Center

The Student Counseling Center offers confidential individual, couple, and group counseling services for UTD students. Educational programs and workshops are also offered.

Student Health Center

The Student Health Center offers confidential primary and preventative healthcare services to UTD students, including STD screening, treatment, and contraception. Students, faculty, or staff who have experienced a sexual assault may access a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (S.A.N.E.) at the Student Health Center at no charge.

Center for Students in Recovery

Contact the Center for Students in Recovery for a variety of programs and services for students seeking recovery from substance and alcohol use, eating disorders, and other addictions and compulsive behaviors. The Center also helps students affected by these issues or individuals exploring the impact of addictions or compulsive behaviors within their lives. Some services offered may be confidential, meaning not subject to mandatory responsible employee reporting, such as counseling provided by a licensed mental health professional.

AccessAbility Resource Center

Contact the AccessAbility Resource Center (ARC) for information and assistance with accommodations for students with disabilities.

Community Standards and Conduct

Contact the Office of Community Standards and Conduct (OCSC) for information regarding the Student Code of Conduct, student disciplinary process, or to report an incident to the Behavior Assessment and Intervention Team (BAIT).

Human Resources

Contact the Office of Human Resources (HR) for information accommodations for pregnant employees or employees with disabilities, performance management and appraisals, conflict resolution, behavioral concerns, employee disciplinary process, and benefits, including leave options.

Student Wellness Center

Contact the Student Wellness Center for a variety of health education and prevention resources for students, including educational programs regarding sexual misconduct, healthy relationships, and bystander intervention. See also Comet Voice, UTD’s bystander intervention initiative.

UTD Police Department

Contact the UTD Police Department (UTDPD) for emergency assistance; criminal reporting and investigation; information or assistance regarding protective orders or forensic sexual assault exams; or to request a police escort.

Off-Campus Support Services & Other Resources

The Off-Campus Resources Guide includes community and national resources for individuals seeking counseling services, crisis intervention, and other types of assistance, including services for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, relationship violence, stalking, and other crimes. These resources are provided to promote support, address safety concerns, and locate providers of medical care and counseling.

Most of the resources in this document provide confidential services (e.g., rape crisis center, health care provider, psychologist, etc.,). Confidential resources will not share information about a report without the individual’s written permission unless there is a continuing threat of serious harm to the reporter or to others or there is a legal obligation to reveal such information (e.g., suspected abuse or neglect of a minor).
